Hockey Rules !!!

Pickup Hockey! We have 2 hours of ice available on Sunday and we’re going to take advantage of the fact that all of our teams are at home!   Ice and lots of hockey players means PICKUP HOCKEY for sure!  Here are the details...

We have 2 hours of ice available on Sunday and we’re going to take advantage of the fact that all of our teams are at home!   Ice and lots of hockey players means PICKUP HOCKEY for sure!  Here are the details.


Coaches – Pickup Hockey is only possible with your support.  Please consider one of these time slots and send an email to info@mainecoastskaters.org if you can help out.   Oh, and by the way…THANK YOU to all our coaches for everything you do for our kids!

We will be asking for a donation of $5 to $10 per player to help offset the cost of the ice. 

• MCSA members only.
• Full equipment required.
• No Checking Permitted.
• Hope to see everyone there!

Holiday Practice Schedule

There will be NO practices on December 24th and 25th   (website schedule has been updated to reflect this).
Regular practice schedules will be followed on December 31st and January 1st.

Christmas Caroling

You’re invited. Wednesday, December 23rd before the Windjammers game at MRC.  Carolers will be gathering at 6:15 PM and starting to sing at 6:30 as fans arrive for the game.  Get your holiday spirit warmed up singing with friends and families of all three local youth hockey groups.

Sheet music will be provided.  Contact Kristin Cameron kmcameronot@aol.com and let her know of your plans to join the group, or just show up on game night.   Tis the season!

Tournament Season…

…is just around the corner.  Our “house” teams will be participating in the Midcoast Classic which is organized our home rink, MRC.  Dates have been scheduled on our website and actual game schedules will be posted when they are available.

• Squirt House, February 13–14
• Girls House, February 27–28
• Mite House, March 13–14, This year we will be entering 2 teams, each of which will be made up a combination of Cross Ice Mites and Mites players.
• Peewee House, March 20–21

All three of our Comp B teams are planning to attend a tournament in Vermont in early March.  They are also working hard at making the cut to play in the State Championships.  Go Storm!

Parents start the conversation with your coaches and team parents if you are planning to participate in additional tournaments.    Many teams have already initiated the process of registration to assure themselves a  space.  Keep in mind that the funds for “additional” tournaments are not covered by MCSA and need to be generated by each team. 

Note of general interest:  Our raffle sales proceeds fund the Midcoast Classic for our House teams and "one" similarly priced tournament of their choice for the Comp B teams.
