Hat Trick Auction Dinner

The Fifth Annual HAT TRICK Dinner Auction is set for Friday February 5th at the Rockland Elks Lodge CLICK HERE FOR DIRECTIONS

The MCSA Youth Hockey Program, Camden Hills Windjammers and the Midcoast Ice Cats are working together to fund raise for their programs.

Please join us and help spread the word to fellow hockey enthusiast and the entire mid-coast community.

Dear Hockey Families and Friends,

Mark your calendars for Friday evening, February 5! It's time for the annual Hat Trick Auction, the annual fundraiser that helps tremendously to support youth and high school ice hockey in the Midcoast.

The auction benefits Maine Coast Skaters Association Youth Hockey, the Midcoast Ice Cats and the Camden Hills Regional High School Windjammers. The home ice of all three organizations is at Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport, where hockey players from fledgling Atoms to mighty Midgets spend fun-filled winters chasing the puck, building strong teams, and learning good sportsmanship.

But! All programs depend on volunteer effort to continue building strong programs, and this year is no exception. The auction, now in its fifth year, represents the opportunity to raise money that is split three ways and benefits equally the three organizations. Since 2006,[ the Hat Trick Auction has raised more than $100,000, with an annual goal of $30,000. This year is no exception, and you all are invited to an absolutely unstuffy evening that is lively and festive, with auctioneer Rosey Gerry at the helm.

How can you help? By getting involved! Help is needed in seeking donations, decorating, setting and cleaning up, or with any of the tasks that arise. Please contact MaryAnn Mercier, info@youngtowninn.com, or 542-9930, to learn more about how you can assist with making this auction another successful event for Midcoast hockey.

DETAILS.........

The auction this year has changed venue to the Elks Club on Rankin Street in Rockland, beginning at 6 p.m. Because the Samoset Resort, which has generously provided a ballroom for us in the past is closed this winter, the auction location is moving to this warm lodge. (CLICK HERE FOR DIRECTIONS).

There will be onsite childcare! Coordinated by Julie Madden, there will be a room for children with movies and games. Space is limited, so sign up soon. A registration sheet will be posted at the rink at the bulletin board.

Donations are needed. Imaginative, helpful, fun items that can be auctioned, either to be featured in the live or in the silent auction, are now being solicited. Successful auction items in the past have ranged from a weekend at New York City apartment to pool party in Rockland to a killer chocolate birthday cake. Attached is the solicitation contract for donations, and which are also available in hard copy at the rink at the bulletin board. Watch Mainecoastskaters.org for a list updated auction items. (CLICK HERE FOR A DONATION CONTRACT)

Individual tickets cost $35 and include a tasty meal for all appetites, carnivores and vegetarians. There will be a cash bar. Groups are also invited to buy a table, with eight settings for $280. To purchase tickets, contact Rick Bresnahan, 236-2655; rickb4@myfairpoint.net.

Please plan on attending this annual event that brings together the three tightly-knit organizations. Ice hockey in the Midcoast builds not only community that bridges town and city lines, but lifelong friendships forged on the strongest of ice. Let's stay in the zone!
